Happy Earth Day on April 22nd! To celebrate, FMP's polyethylene plastics NexTrex recycling program has begun!
We have a brand new Plastics Baler up and running to collect plastic to recycle and we would love your help in filling it!
Currently we are only accepting plastic during our business hours from 8-4pm, Monday through Friday AND on our returning delivery trucks. We are hopeful for some 24-hour drop spots in the near future. Stay tuned!
Plastics we CAN accept are produce bags, store bags, ice bags, Ziploc and other reclosable bags, cereal box liners, case overwrap, bread bags, newspaper sleeves, dry cleaning bags, bubble wrap, and plastic e-commerce mailers.
Plastics we CAN'T accept are frozen food bags, candy bar wrappers, chip bags, mesh produce bags, mulch or soil bags, pet food bags, hot dog or meat wrap packaging, six-pack rings, and pre-washed salad bags.
If you don't see your item on the lists here, try these tests to see if your plastic is acceptable or not. If the plastic will stretch when pulled, it CAN be included. If the plastic is shiny or makes a crinkly/crunchy sound in your hand, it CANNOT be included. Please remember, all plastics must be clean, dry, and free of food and organic residue.
Thanks for helping us be kind to our earth by recycling your household bags and wrap into Trex's Earth-friendly composite decking and railing! Reduce, reuse, recycle!
